Business: If you graduated with a national or DIT cert in business, the most likely destination was another classroom: 60 per cent of graduates continued their studies, presumably to diploma level. A further 36 per cent were in employment, while 1.5 were seeking work. Salaries for the three-quarters of certificate graduates were below £13,000.

At diploma level, 37 per cent of graduates were employed with 59 per cent continuing their studies, presumably to degree level. Some 2.1 per cent were seeking employment. As to salaries, 68 per cent were earning salaries up to £15,000.

Engineering: Again, of those who graduated with a certificate, the most likely destination was further education as some 62 per cent of graduates continued their studies. A further 34 per cent were employed on the date of the survey with 2.4 per cent seeking work.

At diploma level, 37 per cent went on to further study with 59 per cent entering the workplace. About 71 per cent of engineering cert-holders who found work in Ireland earned between £7,000 and £14,999. Five per cent earned more than £19,000, with 3.5 per cent below £5,000.

Salaries were higher for diploma graduates: two-thirds earned between £9,000 and £16,999. Some 6.2 per cent earned more than £19,000 with 0.5 per cent earning less than £5,000.
