Children's Book Festival started last week and runs until next Tuesday, October 31st, throughout Ireland. In libraries, bookshops, schools, and art centres there are fun celebrations of books and reading, from juggling to puppet shows; children's storytimes to word and poetry workshops; African culture to treasure hunts; blockbuster competitions to Internet quizzes, clowns to face-painting. To celebrate this book bonanza, Children's Books Ireland is offering two great prizes: £1,000 of books for a primary-school class and £1,000 of books for a second-level class.
