THE education service of Leargas, the exchange bureau, is currently recruiting a limited number of teachers to participate in the Socrates partner-finding seminars and the European Teacher Placement Programme. Both programmes are fully funded by the European Commission.
A post-primary partner-finding seminar will be held in Fitzpatrick's Hotel, Killiney, Dublin, from January 23rd to 26th next. The theme will be cultural heritage. Other participating countries are Spain, Italy, Scotland and Finland.
Another partner-finding seminar will be held in Munich from February 6th to February 9th and Germany is the other participating country. The application deadline for both of these seminars is Friday, December 6th.
The European Teacher Placement Programme, which is aimed at both primary and post-primary teachers, offers teachers one to three weeks in-company placement in an EU or EEA member state to develop their knowledge and understanding of the international business environment and to source partners for participation in a Comenius project.
