I have numerous e-mail addresses and I pay £20 a month for unlimited off-peak Internet access at home. I spend two to three hours a night doing stuff on the web and keeping in touch by e-mail. I do some web design so that helps to pay for my mobile and Internet access. I text all the time in school. I want a WAP phone so I can check my mail more easily and just because I like gizmos.

I have a lot of friends so I email or chat on ICQ a lot. We have a computer with Internet access at home so I would use it for an average of at least an hour each night. During Transition Year we do a lot more projects to do with the Internet and you learn all about communications very easily. I am always having to use my mobile to phone friends and tell them I am going to be late when I am meeting them.

I have an e-mail address and I have access at home. I check my mail regularly and I would use it to keep in touch with friends I wouldn't see so often. I didn't realise just how much I needed my mobile for keeping in touch until I lost it. I text-message a lot, to chat to friends in school or to arrange meeting up with people in other schools afterwards. I have a pre-paid mobile and my parents help subsidise it.

We don't have Internet at home but when my dad brings his laptop home I check my email on that. Otherwise I go to my friends' house and use the Internet there. I won't go to a net cafe because it's a bit intimidating with all the people who seem to know so much more than I do. In school I'd text friends at least five times a day and on work experience I can keep in touch with friends working other places by text.

I use the Internet about twice a week. I have access at home and in school. I don't use it for e-mail as I text all my friends on the mobile so I don't really need mail at the moment. I send between 20 and 30 text messages a day. I use a prepaid mobile and have a part-time job to pay for the top-up cards. I sometimes phone up to request sports-results texts but I am not that pushed on getting a WAP phone.
