THE Dublin Rape Crisis Centre is holding a one-day seminar for primary and secondary teachers, principals and those in a pastoral role next Tuesday. The seminar will focus on issues of disclosure, crisis management, referral and support counselling. No previous training is required and the cost of the seminar is £60.

"We're trying to reach anybody who would be in contact with children or adults who have been sexually abused," says Olive Braiden, director of the DRCC. The workhop, which is described as very comprehensive", is experiential and includes role-playing scenarios.

The DRCC is also providing a two-day workshop for guidance counsellors-Level 1 on Tuesday, February 25th, and Wednesday, February 26th, which offers the opportunity to explore at a deeper level the process of sexual abuse counselling. The cost of the workshop is £25 and early booking is advisable.
