In light of the Schull incident, some exam supervisors in the south-west were worried that yesterday afternoon's biology paper could have been handed out in the morning, "if one followed the simple day-today instructions" issued by the Department of Education. As part of their instructions in an addendum booklet, exam supervisors were instructed to distribute graph paper for "June 17th morning biology paper, Leaving Certificate", when in fact the biology paper was not examined until the afternoon. Last night there were no reported incidents of the paper being seen by students before the correct time.

According to a Department of Education spokesperson, "everything was right except for the allocating of graph papers; the date and time on the timetable, envelope and script were correct."
