The Collins Press in Cork has brought out its first guide to evening classes in the Cork city and county areas. The Dun Laoghaire College of Art and Design (tel: (01) 280 1138) has some places left on three of its short professional courses, covering AutoCad, script-writing and portfolio presentation. The foundation course in AutoCad is suitable for architects, interior designers, civil engineers and product designers, while the script-writing course covers drama and documentary.
The portfolio-presentation course is aimed at those seeking entry to third-level courses in art and design who need to build up a suitable range of material.
On Saturdays between now and December, the Decorative Arts Centre in Dublin's Great Strand Street is offering a range of courses for those interested in home decor and design. Interior design, stencilling and paint effects will be covered, and there will also be a session on bargain-furniture restoration.
For those with an interest in the Chinese art of laying out interiors in harmony with the inner sell, there will be a Feng Shui workshop on November 2nd and December 7th.
