Students with their eye on the ball are expected to be out in force at a major recruitment fair in the RDS this November. Employers from many countries will be scouting for the best and the brightest at the Graduate Careers Fair 1999. It's a great match-making fest for those attending. Those looking for graduates come from a wide range of companies and postgraduate colleges, including software companies, business and finance and consultancy groups, and communications and IT businesses.

The fair is organised by AIESEC in Ireland, an international student body spread across 800 campuses in 84 countries. The fair, which moves venue this year from UCD to the RDS in Ballsbridge because of the huge numbers who attended last year, is open to all students from all faculties in every third-level institution in Ireland. Over the past 12 years AIESEC in Ireland has provided Europe and the US with graduates through this annual graduate careers fair. Companies which participated last year included Ericsson, BT, AIB, Unilever, Canada Life, Hibernian, ESAT, Aer Lingus, Oracle, Morgan Stanley, CIMA and Isocor.

The fair is on Tuesday, November 16th, starting at 9 a.m. and running through the day until 5 p.m. Students starting out on the first rung of the third-level ladder will also benefit from a visit to the fair as AIESEC is available to all those who want to use their time at university to acquire employability skills. "Students gain a lot of skills from training sessions and conferences run by AIESEC," says Liam O'Gara, the fair's co-ordinator.
