Fees at centre of marital battle

A 16-YEAR-OLD girl has taken her father to court in order to obtain payment of her school fees

A 16-YEAR-OLD girl has taken her father to court in order to obtain payment of her school fees. Nicole Lavelle's parents divorced in 1998 and initially she lived with her father in Dunblane, Scotland. Calum Lavelle, a computer executive, had originally offered to pay for his daughter to go to a £12,000 sterling per annum boarding school, as he was travelling abroad frequently with work. However he appeared in court recently after refusing to pay her £6,600 sterling school fees for the King's School in Worcester.

In court it was argued on behalf of Nicole Lavelle that her father had stopped paying the fees because of a feud between himself and his estranged wife.
