Greg Murphy, a student at St Munchin's College, Limerick, and Ken Healy, a student at Colaiste an Spioraid Naoimh, Cork, were awarded joint first in the Irish National Mathematics Competition last month. The award-giving ceremony, which took place at UCD, "celebrates the joy that our secondary school students find in tricky maths," says Dr Pauline Mellon, of UCD's maths department.
