FOR THE first time since the turn of the century, the Royal Irish Academy of Music and the DIT College of Music will combine their talents to present an evening of orchestral music at the National Concert Hall next Wednesday, January 31st, at 8.00 p.m.
The concert is the first such presentation since 1902 and will be attended by the President, Mrs Robinson.
The orchestra for the evening will consist of advanced students of both institutions and the concert will consist of Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings, conducted by Brian McNamara; Ravel's Bolero, conducted by William Halpin and Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, conducted by James Kavanagh.
Tickets are an eminently reasonable £6 (£3 concessions) and are available from the National Concert Hall.
