A school failed to protect a French teacher from racial abuse and harassment, an employment tribunal has been told.

A union representative told the tribunal panel during her closing argument that Frederique Ganneval, 33, still suffers from ill-health following her time at Sir Charles Lucas School in Colchester, Essex.

The French national told the tribunal she frequently reported problems to senior staff, including the headteacher. She said she was subjected to constant racial abuse and called a "French frog". She claimed a pupil jumped on her car bonnet and racially abused her.
