THE NATIONAL Gallery, which caters for over 100,000 school children each year, is closed until mid-May to complete refurbishment and to rehang the entire collection. When the gallery reopens in May. it will have new activities on offers such as May Family Day, summer clubs for teenagers and children and, in the autumn, a redesigned schools' art course and workshops.

While it is closed. the gallery's outreach programme of talks and workshops will continue in Dublin city and county. extending further between May and October.
