Former Taoiseach Dr Garret FitzGerald was guest of honour at the official opening of extensive new facilities at the High School in Rathgar, Dublin.
Over the past two years, the school premises have been augmented by the completion of a technical and crafts building, which has dedicated rooms for construction studies, materials technology, technical graphics, technical drawing and home economics.
A music centre, with a concert performance room, two classrooms and individual tuition rooms, has also been completed.
At the opening ceremony, principal Brian Duffy praised Dr FitzGerald - for many years, the local TD - for his contribution to public life.
