The Dublin Institute of Technology, Bolton Street, has set up a new, part-time design studies course. The course took three years to design and will deal with a broad range of topics with a continuous module in design theory and history at its core.

The DIT describes the course as "a major partnership between industry and third-level education designed to meet growing demands and requirements for design graduates of the future". The school of architecture, the department of engineering and the department of transport engineering are all involved in the course.
