"TECHNOLOGICAL education - shaping the 21st century" is the theme of the Association of Materials Technology and Graphics Teachers' AGM.

This year's conference will be opened by Michael D Higgins, minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht and the keynote speaker is Professor Mike Cooley, writer, lecturer, consultant and broadcaster on work and technology.

Lectures include "A unique view of Irish timber", by Duncan Stewart, architect and presenter of the RTE series Our House. School projects will he exhibited and there will also be demonstrations and workshops. The AGM takes place in the Corrib Great Southern Hotel, Galway, on Friday, March 15th, and Saturday, March 16th.

The association will also have a stand at the Education Ireland show which will be held in the RDS. Dublin, on March 28th, 29th and 30th.
