Application forms are now available for Trinity College Dublin's schools prize in history, sponsored by The Irish Times. There are junior, intermediate and senior categories for the prize which is open to second-level school students in the Republic and Northern Ireland.
Entries must take the form of an essay in English or Irish, not exceeding 3,000 words. The three topic areas for the prize are European history, local history studies or the Act of Union.
First and second prize winners in each category will receive book tokens and a specially commissioned medal.
