Dundalk Branch of the Computer Education Society of Ireland (CESI) is organising a student fair to take place on Friday, May 11th, in St Vincent's secondary school, Seatown Place, Dundalk, foot-and-mouth permitting. Last year's inaugural fair, with 20 diverse projects, had representation from 14 primary and second-level schools from the Louth/Monaghan area. The brief for projects is broad but ICT (information and communication technology) must be used. The emphasis is on the use of technology as a tool or aid to learning/doing rather than as an end in itself but "the project does not have to be high-tech, complex or long-winded". There will be spot prizes and "goodies for all" as well as a free draw for £100 for all participating schools. Entry free to members of CESI (non-members pay a fee of £10) and a teacher or school may submit multiple entries. Closing date is Wednesday, May 2nd. You can get entry forms from joint secretaries Jim Kelly at (042) 9334474, during school hours (email jimkelly@esatclear.ie) or Sean Leahy (042) 9332790, school hours (e-mail seanjleahy@eircom.net).
