Professor Mary Clayton MRIA
Currently: Vice-president for students, UCD.
Previously: Head of the School of English and Professor of Old and Middle English.
Clayton joined UCD in 1982. She was educated in UCC (BA 1975), the University of Munich, UCC (MA 1978) and St Hilda's College, Oxford (Dphil. 1983). She has been a Fulbright visiting professor in the United States (Harvard 1988-1989) and the University of California at Berkeley, (1996). She is a member of the Fontes Anglo-Saxonici Committee and is on the Advisory Editorial Board of Anglo-Saxon England. She is married and has an 11-year-old daughter. She lives in Rathmines, Dublin.
