What was your best subject?
History - even though the school dropped it after Inter Cert and I had to do it myself.
Who was your favourite teacher and why?
"The Doc" - Sean Daly - who taught English. Because he forced you to think.
Who was your childhood idol?
Mickey McLoone (Donegal footballer) and John F Kennedy (not a Donegal footballer)- in that order.
Who was your best friend and why?
Sean Red Gallagher. He always picked me on his team, even though I wasn't really any good.
What is he doing now?
He works for the Health Service Executive in the northwest.
What TV show/film most reminds you of your schooldays?
The Simpsons
What song most reminds you of your schooldays?
You've Made Me So Very Happy by Blood, Sweat and Tears.
What food most reminds you of your schooldays?
Trigger bars.
Who did you take to your debs?
No one - we didn't have one. But Margaret Everitt brought me to hers. Does that count?
Would you send your children to the same school you went to?
Yes, absolutely. It has now been incorporated into a community school - Coláiste Colmcille.
What was the best thing about your education?
The emphasis on personal and social development and achieving your full potential, whatever that might be.
What was the worst thing about your education?
In a small school the range of choice was necessarily limited, however that was more than compensated for by the other benefits.
