Best subject? Home Economics and art.

Worst subject? I absolutely hated biology.

What's the boldest thing you ever did in school? I was a complete chatterbox, so I was always landing myself in trouble for constantly yapping.

Who was your favourite teacher and why? My art teacher, she was a real character.

Who was the object of your first crush? I can't remember exactly who, but I would hazard a guess that it was one of the older boys in the Leaving Certificate class when I was a first- year student.

What was your earliest career ambition? I wanted to be an air hostess. I was attracted by the glamour of the job and the prospect of travelling around the world.

Were you cool or nerdy at school? Oh, I was too cool for school, or so I thought.

Did you go to college? Yes, I have a degree in hotel and catering management from Galway/Mayo Institute of Technology and a postgraduate diploma in communications from NUI Galway.

What would you look for when choosing a school for your own children?I would have no problem sending my children to the same schools that I attended.

Were your school days the best days of your life? Definitely. I thoroughly enjoyed both my school and college days.
