Peter Churchill, professor of Jazz Studies at the Guildhall School of Music in London, will lead a workshop on Jazz and Vocal Improvisation at this year's National Post-primary Teachers' Association Conference. Other workshops and seminar options will include music technology, traditional music in the classroom and the new Leaving Certificate music syllabus. Keynote speaker at the conference, which takes place on Friday and Saturday of this week (September 29th and 30th ) in the Kilkenny River Court Hotel, will be Micheal O Suilleabhain, head of Music at the Irish World Music Centre in the University of Limerick.
