A number of courses in project management are offered by UL, including a diploma by distance learning starting next month. Closing date for applications for the course is May 3rd. The diploma course lasts two years - two semesters a year of 20 weeks duration each - and those interested must either have a Leaving Cert with at least a grade D3 in five ordinary-level subjects, including maths and English, or five years' relevant experience in a projects environment.
For those interested but unable to make the May starting date, the course will begin again in November. Closing date for applications for the November course is October 31st next. For information, contact Carmel Hennigan - phone (061) 202696 or email carmel.hennigan@ul.ie
Also on offer are two master's programmes, one taught by distance learning, the other modular in structure. The modular course doesn't run again until 2000, but the distance learning version kicks off again this September with a closing date for applications of mid-July. This is a two-year course and it costs £3,500 a year.
Entry requirements are either an honours degree or relevant work experience. The contact person for more information is Valerie Clancy - phone (061) 202982, e-mail valerie.clancy@ul.ie
