Home from home: Primary school-age children "in care" may be bullied by classmates who target them for the simple reason that they live away from home.

Teachers and care staff seldom intervene, making children feel worse than they already do, according to a new study by Dr Ruth Emond of TCD's Children's Research Centre, which will be launched today at the Marino Institute of Education.

Today, primary school children who are in care will also launch a handbook which they have written themselves about their experiences.

Learning from their Lessons is essential reading for all teaching staff, social workers, parents - everyone who is involved in the lives of children.
