www.iol.ie/stfintan/
St Fintan's primary school can be justifiably proud of its website, which is maintained by the sixth-class pupils (no doubt with large amounts of help from some forward-thinking, web-savvy teachers). It is bright, colourful and informative, everything a primary school website should be. Other schools thinking about establishing a web presence should go here first.
tripod.co.uk/Physics/
Despite using a British web host, this site (Full address - http://members.tripod.co.uk/Physics/) specialises in physics as studied in Ireland. Both Leaving and Junior Certificate physics are covered, as is maths. There is also a very good links section which takes you to what it deems the "Physics Top Ten" and the "General Science Top Ten". Of use to pupils seeking revision aid.

Now that the trains are running again, a trip to Fota Wildlife park near Cobh, Co Cork, is again a reasonable possibility (the Cork to Cobh service stops right on the park's doorstep). Before going, check out its website. With a history of Fota, descriptions of all the animals there and some lovely virtual postcards to send, it is a great resource for project work.
harvard.edu/gazette/
Harvard University's official publication, the is an austere and very sincere publication. Its web presence is no less so. (Full address - http://www.hno.harvard.edu/gazette/) It's not the most happening, busiest site you will ever encounter, nor does it need to be. The quality of its writing from the "President and Fellows of Harvard College" says all it needs to say. With almost five years of archives, it's a must-see for any teacher.
http://slate.msn.com/
Slate is owned by Microsoft, but don't let its corporate backers put you off. Its hard-hitting stories grant no favours. At the moment its best resource is the hilarious "Bushisms" - http://slate.msn.com/ Features/bushisms/bushisms.asp - a list of the bizarre things George W Bush says, e.g. "I have a different vision of leadership. A leadership is someone who brings people together."
