NCEA staffs up

Four new appointments to the staff of the National Council for Educational Awards were officially announced recently

Four new appointments to the staff of the National Council for Educational Awards were officially announced recently. The NCEA, responsible for the standardisatiton, co-ordination, development and promotion of third-level courses outside the universities, is now operating with a full complement of nine senior staff.

Miriam Broderick (below) has been appointed assistant registrar with responsibility for humanities in the NCEA. She has been involved in teacher training and curriculum development and was assistant head of languages and industrial studies in the DIT.

Dr Marian O'Sullivan, a former lecturer at UCC, TCD, UCD and DIT Kevin Street, is now assistant registrar with responsibility for science and computing. She joins the NCEA from Teagasc. Renee Scully is now assistant registrar in financial management, previously having been finance officer with the NCEA. Mary Sheridan is assistant registrar with responsibility for business studies. She joins the NCEA from Price Waterhouse.
