Lovers of English literature, prepare to sate yourselves at a series of evening lectures in Trinity College, Dublin. For a small sum, audiences will be able to sit back in the Edmund Burke Theatre in the university's arts building and listen to experts and academics talk about Donne, Yeats, Shakespeare, Henry James, Sean O'Casey and others. The series starts on Tuesday, October 7th, with a lecture by Eilean Ni Chuilleanain on the poetry of John Donne and George Herbert. The work of Patrick Kavanagh will be discussed in the third week by Antoinette Quinn. Later, a lecture on Evelyn Waugh and his novel, A Handful Of Dust, will be given by John Nash. The series concludes on December 2nd, with a lecture on Eugene O'Neill's play, Long Day's Journey Into Night - soon to be seen here in a film version.The cost of this word-fest is £25 for the series of nine lectures or £3.50 for individual lectures.
