Music: Students at the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama will host free lunchtime concerts around Dublin this week. The 40-minute sessions start at 1.10pm. Today they play Renaissance and Baroque music for woodwind and brass in the John McCann Hall, DIT, Catham Row, Dublin 2. Tomorrow Richard Sweeney will perform a Baroque lute music, featuring works by Silvius Leopo Weiss, Kellner and Gallot, in the Peppercanister Church, Mount Street, Dublin. On Thursday, Eamon Sweeney will perform works by Narvaez, Mudarra, Dowland and Bach on Renaissance lute, Baroque lute and vihuela in St Anne's Church, Dawson Street. Spanish Links: Dublin Corporation Public Libraries have launched the Andalucia/ Costa Del Sol School Project Competition for secondlevel students in Dublin. The 10 project themes include the Irish community on the Costa del Sol, crafts in Ireland and Andalucia and the influence of Andalucia on the works of Lorca or Picasso. Open Day: An open day at Rathmines Senior College in Dublin kicks off this Thursday at 1.30pm and runs until 5.30pm. Sessions lasting 30 minutes each will provide students with information on plc courses and repeat Leaving Cert programmes.

Against Torture: Justice & Peace Groups and Transition Year students who haven't got around to sending collected signatures to Rescue Trust in response to a national appeal to have the United Nations Convention against Torture ratified by the Irish Government should do so as quickly as possible. All signatures will be presented to the Minister for Foreign Affairs some time between now and Easter. If Rescue Trust's information and appeal leaflets have been mislaid, write to Rescue Trust, Capel Chambers, 119 Capel Street, Dublin 1 - or phone (01) 872 2371 and leave your name and address. Rescue Trust will be more than happy to send out more.

Art Dates: The National Gallery will hold four school study revision days on the four Saturdays of this month to help Leaving Cert students focus on the art history and appreciation syllabus.
