UCD Smurfit School Open Day

UCD Humanities Institute of Ireland Seminar

The next seminar in a series at the UCD Humanities Institute of Ireland is entitled Research Journalism as a Tool for the Restoration of Historical Memory and will be given by Montserrat Armengou, journalist and documentary film-maker of TV Catalunya.

Armengou is an award-winning investigative documentary film-maker and author who has worked for TV3 Catalunya since 1985. Among her best known work is the documentary Los Niños Perdidos del Franquismo (The Lost Children of Francoism) which has won numerous awards. Since 1995 she has worked on the weekly 30 Minuts (30 Minutes), TV3's flagship current affairs programme.The seminar takes place in room H204, second floor, Humanities Institute at University College Dublin on Thursday, April 13th at 5pm. Tea and coffee will be served from 4.45pm.

National University of Ireland, Maynooth Seminar

NUI Maynooth is hosting a one-day seminar - Understanding Irish Heritage Through Active Learning - on Wednesday, April 26th. The seminar is co-hosted by the Centre for the Study of Historic Irish Houses and Estates and the Education Department at NUI Maynooth. It is aimed at teachers of history - at all levels, especially those with an interest in teaching local history projects and also at history of art teachers and transition year co-ordinators who may be interested in finding out information about using information about Irish historic houses for active learning purposes.

New MA in Criminology at DIT

The School of Social Sciences and Legal Studies in Dublin Institute of Technology is inviting applications (deadline April 28th) for a new MA in criminology to run from September 2006.
