Public Presentation of Research by UCC Students

Hear students explain their research without the jargon at the final of the third annual postgraduate student public presentation competition, Science For All tomorrow at 7pm in Boole Lecture 4 Theatre, University College Cork. All are welcome to attend the presentation, which will include Sinead Corr - on "Probiotics - a new way to fight infectious disease"; Mairi Gardner om "Catastrophic Volcano Eruptions: how they could make Irish winters worse than they are now"; John Goold on "Ultra-cold One Dimensional Gases"; Dawn Griffin on"Chemical Fingerprinting on 'Super Ecstasy'"; Nollaig Healy on "Mystique: a new mediator of metastasis & invasion in cancer" and Danny O'Shea on "Building the Dell Quantum - quantum computing for the masses".

New Sport and Literacy Pack

Move with Literacy is a new sport and literacy pack that aims to exercise both mind and body, improving literacy skills while encouraging participation in sporting activities. The 130-page pack provides useful tips and advice on how to get fit along with information on planning physical activity sessions for small groups with limited resources in popular sports including rugby, boxing, GAA and soccer.

UL's Introduction to University Programme

The University of Limerick is offering students a summer Introduction to University Programme (IUP) designed to help them decide between the broad range of career and third-level course options while gaining experience of university life.

Students explore a number of academic areas including: business and law; architecture; engineering; science and medical sciences including physiotherapy and nursing; humanities including music and dance, new media studies and liberal arts; and teaching education programmes.
