School Library Association AGM

The School Library Association in the Republic of Ireland (Slari) will host its annual general meeting and spring seminar as part of this year's Education Show in the Main Hall, RDS in Dublin on Saturday, April 8th.

Lunchtime Lecture at the Hunt Museum in Limerick

Anna Moran will give a lecture entitled New Perspectives on Irish Glass on Tuesday, April 4th at 1pm. Moran is the winner of the John Hunt Memorial Bursary for 2004. Her area of interest is early 19th-century Irish glass. Admission is free.

Campaign for Commercial-Free Education Meetings

Information meetings for parents, teachers and all concerned about commercial marketing in Irish schools will be held tonight at Navan Education Centre, Co Meath at 7.30pm and tomorrow at Dublin West Education Centre, Blessington Road, Tallaght, Co Dublin at 7pm. Weekend Special Needs Workshop

Dr Christine McIntyre of the University of Edinburgh will present a workshop for teachers, special-needs assistants and healthcare workers, entitled Identifying and Supporting Children with Learning Difficulties' on Friday, March 31st and Saturday, April 1st at the Galway Education Centre, Cluain Mhuire, Monivea Road. Seminar on Reading Problems and Dyslexia

"Toe By Toe" is a highly structured multi-sensory approach to reading problems and dyslexia. Two seminars aimed at giving practical tips and information on the programme to teachers and parents will be held at the Blackrock Education Centre, Kill Avenue, Dún Laoghaire, Co Dublin on Wednesday, April 5th at 7pm and at Drumcondra Education Centre on Thursday, April 6th, also at 7pm.
