Fiona Marron will give a lecture on "Abstract Art" today at 1 p.m. in the Hunt Museum Limerick. Her talk will focus on the processes behind the creation of abstract and conceptual art. Marron's exhibition, entitled "Passages", is on view in the Hunt Museum Gallery. Admisssion is free

UCC's Faculty of Science public lecture series to mark Cork European Capital of Culture for 2005 continues tomorrow with "Has Science Supplanted Religion?" by Prof John Polkinghorne KBE, FRS, Cambridge University. The lecture takes place at 8 p.m. in the Boole IV Lecture Theatre. Admission is free.

Waterford Institute of Technology Public Lecture

"Internet and mobile phone safety: A positive approach for parents and young people" is the title of a talk by Dr Rachel O'Connell, director of Research at the Cyberspace Research Unit at University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN), organised by the Castletroy College Parents' Association.
