There are a number of spaces still available for Music in the Classroom concerts for the 2009-2010 school year. To request a booking form email mitc@irishtimes.com. All concerts last approximately one hour and cost €8 per student.

The Irish TimesInstitute of Guidance Counsellors Higher Options exhibition starts tomorrow in the RDS. More than 170 universities, colleges and education information bodies will provide information for Leaving Cert students and those interested in returning to education. The exhibition runs from 9am to 3pm each day till Friday. Further information is available at www.higheroptions.ie

Reading Association of Ireland Conference

The 33rd annual conference of the Reading Association of Ireland takes place at St Patricks College, Drumcondra from Thursday, September 24th to Saturday, September 26th. The theme is “Literacy in the 21st Century: Perspectives, Challenges and Transformations”. There will be presentations on a range of topics including childrens literature, literacy assessment, handwriting, and teaching reading in disadvantaged schools. Fulbright Scholarships for post-graduate students

Fulbright Scholarships for postgraduate students and scholars to study, research or teach in the US are now open to applications for 2010-2011. Visit www.fulbright.ie for more information. Closing date for Irish language awards is October 30th . For all other disciplines, the closing date is December 4th.

ADHD information evening

As part of ADHD European Awareness Week from September, 21st - 26th, HADD Family Support Group are holding an information evening entitled “ADHD and Adults – How to recognise and maximise the positive aspects of ADHD” on Tuesday, September 22nd at 8pm in the Academy Plaza Hotel, 10-14 Findlater Place, off O’Connell St , Dublin 1. The evening is for parents, carers and teachers to meet, share experiences and get information and also for adults and young people with ADHD. There is a €5 admission charge.
