Courses for teachers of Spanish and Italian
Ten-week language upskilling courses, sponsored by the Post-Primary Languages Initiative, will be offered to teachers of Spanish and Italian in Dublin (DIT), Cork (UCC), Limerick (UL, Spanish only) and Galway (NUIG, Italian only), commencing in January 2009, with the exception of Galway, where the Italian course will commence at the end of November 2008.

Part-Time Teacher Training
Applications are now being accepted for the Graduate Diploma in Education at Dublin City University. This is a two-year, two-evening-per- week programme approved by the Teaching Council for those who wish to work in second-level schools. Project Maths: Information Meeting in Cork
The Irish Mathematics Teachers Association (Cork branch) is holdong an information meeting on the post-primary syllabuses, introduced into 24 schools last September and to be introduced into all other schools in September 2010. Bill Lynch, Director, National Council of Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA) will present "Project Maths, A New Model of Syllabus Revision" in the Rochestown Park Hotel, Cork on Thursday, November 13th at 7p.m. All teachers welcome.
Adults with Dyslexia - A Course for Adult Literacy Tutors
The course is open to trained and experienced adult literacy tutors. It wll take place at The Spa Hotel, Lucan, Co Dublin on Saturday, November 8th from 10am to 1pm. UCD Science Careers and Information Evening
UCD is hosting a science open evening for fifth- and sixth-year secondary school students, parents and teachers on Tuesday, November 11th from 6pm to 9pm in the UCD School of Computer Science and Informatics.
