Pilots for the Young Social Innovators of the Year (YSIY) project are taking place in schools in Dublin, Kildare, Wicklow and Meath.

Developed by "Social Innovations Ireland", set up by Sr Stanislaus Kennedy, the aim is to bring together ideas on the emerging and changing needs in Ireland in the 21st century. Designed for Transition Year students, the project hopes to encourage young people to use their skills and talent to help create a "better society".

Some 20 schools are already involved and to broaden things an introductory support workshop for teachers has been organised for November 17th. Bookings should be made by tomorrow. Details from (086) 8227335 or e-mail:colob@esatclear.ie
