JUNIOR CERT TECHNOLOGY:JUNIOR CERT technology students were greeted with clearly laid out and well-illustrated papers at both levels yesterday afternoon according to teachers of the subject. Colour diagrams, photographs and pictures scattered among the short questions in section A made for a clear and welcoming start to both exams.
The ASTI subject representative, Séamus Walshe, praised the higher-level paper."Section A covered a wide range of course topics. It was very clearly laid out for students." The longer questions in sections B and C were described by Walshe as, "probing but fair."
Question three in section C about technology and society including sections on mobile phones, MP3 players and satellite navigation systems, would have proved popular, according to Mr Walshe.
Short questions at ordinary level were "demanding but fair," Mr Walshe said, and students who completed the bridge project earlier in the year would have been delighted to see a question on the topic in section B of the paper.
