DO CLELBRERITY PREGNANCIES REFLECT REALITY? Janet Stafford asked women attending antenatal classes at the Coombe Hospital, Dublin.
I think reports of Jordan going out until 3 a.m. are probably exaggerated - I just envy her energy. You can feel full of life and glamorous - I have had no sick days - but it is a huge change to be carrying an extra 20 or 30 pounds around for six months. I work in a professional environment, so I choose clothes that don't draw attention to my bump - very different to some celebs.
Not reality in our everyday sense - we'd all have small neat bumps like Posh Spice if we had a personal trainer. I've done pre-natal yoga during my pregnancy, so that has helped keep me active. We do lots of breathing and stretching - it's very social and we chat a lot. I think celebrities have very different lives, but they need some privacy too which the media don't give them. No matter how famous you are, you can't make things glamorous if they aren't - celebrities have problems like everyone else. I've had miscarriages and I'm just happy now I'm due in a few weeks. I've had a tough time from day one. I've been sick throughout and I'm having daily injections now. I've friends who found their pregnancy great but I didn't. I wouldn't focus on pregnant celebrity stories to help me through my pregnancy; it's an individual, sometimes lonely experience. Show the bump or not? If you're an Atomic Kitten, who usually jumps about stage with not much on, keep doing it - whatever makes you confident or helps you feel sexy and attractive. If clubbing saves her sanity, Jordan should go on.
You see pictures of Jordan out clubbing - I've to get up at 6.30 a.m. so I don't think I'll be doing it. I haven't felt as dowdy as I thought I would, so it's no different to how you normally feel about celebrities' looks. I don't like the public row about the father of Liz Hurley's baby. What's the poor child going to think when he grows up? Jodie Foster minds her kids' privacy - that's good.
