What impact will information and communications technologies have on the fabric of our society - local, national and global? The question is at the heart of a project being developed by the Department of Education's Transition Year Support Team (TYST) and the American company, Interactive Frameworks.

Teams of Transition Year students will investigate an aspect of this question and report their findings. Teachers of current Transition Year classes interested in getting involved can contact Gerry Jeffers of the TYST for more information. He emphasises that teachers from all subject disciplines are welcome and IT skills are not essential.

Teachers taking part will be given opportunities to innovate and adapt the approaches which underpin the Transition Year concept including interdisciplinary work, experiential learning, community links and reflective professional practice.
