Singers, music-makers, actors and dancers are welcome in Up With People , which provides an exchange programme for young people aged between 17 and 26 years around the world. The organisation's Worldsmart programme offers young adults a chance to spend 11 months travelling throughout the world.

Irish students seeking part-scholarships are assessed on circumstances and motivation, says Jacqui McGovern, who is organising the Irish input. The Wordsmart programme is based at 21 Whitethorn Drive, Caherdavin Heights, Limerick. Students taking part learn about each other's cultures, traditions, languages and lifestyles as well as participating in all aspects of the programme.
