It is, as they say, that time of year again. Next Monday is an important day. Sure, Valentine's Day to most students is just an excuse for a traffic-light disco and perhaps the odd wacky cocktail, but for a few politically minded souls it is the date when they can first submit their own indecent proposal for a USI position.
The full-time positions open for election at the union's annual congress in April at Ennis are president, deputy president, education officer, welfare officer and equality officer. If you have better things to do on Valentine's, fear not: you have until March 16th to get your nomination in, and then a further seven days in which to realise you haven't got a chance - sorry, that your "ambitions lie elsewhere" - and to withdraw.
