Two videos have been launched by Forfas to encourage school-leavers to become technicians in the electronic and computer software sectors. The Minister for Education and Science, Micheal Martin, is pictured here at the launch with Doireann Ni Chorragain, Newcastle, Co Dublin, and Saoirse Milltte of Rathmines, Dublin, who acted in the videos.

A special two-page report on opportunities for technicians and higher technicians will be published in next week, in advance of the May 1st deadline for the receipt of late applications to the CAO for technician courses, mainly in Institutes of Technology.
