A n Egyptian father has stabbed four of his seven daughters to death, telling investigators that his wife with whom he regularly argued had encouraged them to insult him.
Prosecution sources said the 47-year-old government employee also seriously injured his three other daughters when he attacked them all with a knife yesterday after suhour, the pre-dawn meal before the day's fast in the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
The incident took place in Sohag, south of Cairo. The four daughters killed were aged between six and 15 years, while the three survivors were aged between three and 13. The man had no sons.
