The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) issued eight enforcement orders on food businesses in July.
Closure orders were served on the Buddha Restaurant, Belgard Square, Tallaght; Yuki House take away, Townsend Street, Dublin 2; Taste of Africa in the Ilac shopping centre on Dublin's Moore Street; The Tasty Grill, Richmond Street South, Dublin 2; and The Tasty Bite, Freemount, Charleville, Cork.
All except the Taste of Africa have since reopened following further inspections from environmental health officers.
Probation orders were served on Wang Yan Xue restaurants on Fassaugh Avenue in Cabra and on Parnell Street in Dublin and on a former residential address of Xiaoqiang (Jack) Chen in Dublin 1, which was operating as an illegal food preparation business.
These are temporary orders which are listed for one month on the FSAI website. They can be applied if a business is found to be selling, storing or producing food that is not fit for human consumption.
They are lifted after the environmental health officer for the area confirms the food which resulted in the order being served has been destroyed or the preparation conditions now meet HSE guidelines.
