Eight people were arrested yesterday in early-morning raids in Cork, Kerry and Waterford in connection with a burglary at a Co Kerry pub. A substantial amount of money was taken in the robbery at Griffin's bar in Castlemaine last Monday.
Some of those arrested were released later, but a number were being held for questioning last night under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
A number of vehicles were also seized in the Garda operation, a spokesman said.
