A woman in her early 80s was killed in a car crash near Roscrea, Co Tipperary, yesterday
She was fatally injured when her car collided with a van shortly after 5pm on the N62 between Birr and Roscrea at the townland of Loughnavatta.
The dead woman's body was removed to Nenagh hospital for post mortem today, a Garda statement said.
The driver of the van was also injured and taken to Nenagh hospital with leg injuries. He was subsequently removed to Limerick Regional Hospital. Gardaí in Roscrea are investigating the crash.
