World-renowned naturalist, broadcaster and author David Attenborough had better watch out.

That’s because an 11-year-old Co Galway boy has published his first nature book focusing on the birds of prey.

At the book launch at the weekend for Raptorsat Aillwee Caves in the Burren, Declan Cairney gave little clue that this was his first time to launch a book.

In relaxed mode and standing before the gathered audience, Declan shared his passion for the birds, explaining to the crowd “it was from my time at the birds of prey centre here that I learned so much about these beautiful birds”.
