Copenhagen - Unions and employers are ready for talks aimed at ending the nationwide strike which is interrupting transportation, factory output and hospital services, Denmark's union chief said yesterday after a meeting between the two sides.
The head of the labour confederation, the LO, Mr Hans Jensen, said both sides were "ready to start negotiations" after talks between the LO and representatives of the employers' federation, the DA. Half a million private sector workers demanding a sixth week of salaried leave walked off or were locked out of their jobs on Monday.
