Cricket:England survived a nervy finish to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match one-day series against Australia. Andrew Strauss' side eventually snuck home with five balls and just one wicket remaining, having looked likely to romp to victory at one stage.
A fine effort in the field restricted the tourists to 212 all out, Graeme Swann and James Anderson chipping in with seven wickets between them, while Strauss top-scored with 87 before a late surge from the Australians.
Tim Bresnan eased the nerves with a controlled chase at the close, hitting four off the first ball of the final over to see his side over the line for the loss of nine wickets.
Eoin Morgan managed 27, the Dubliner’s lowest total of the series to date, before being caught by Ricky Ponting.
