Cricket:England crashed out of the World Cup after a humiliating nine-wicket defeat to South Africa at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.
In what was effectively a quarter-final showdown, Michael Vaughan's team were routed for just 154 after winning the toss and the South Africans booked their last-four spot in just 19.2 overs of the chase.
England were undone by Andrew Hall, who returned five for 18, the best figures of this World Cup and the 10th best in tournament history.
The separation of fourth-wicket pair Andrew Strauss (46) and Paul Collingwood (30) began a calamitous collapse of five wickets in as many overs, which sent the score tumbling from 111 for three to 121 for eight.
South Africa's new-ball bowlers revelled after being asked to operate in early-morning conditions and Michael Vaughan, who won the toss, took 20 balls to get off the mark in his latest batting failure.
It was a contrasting pace at the head of South Africa's chase as they had rattled to 85 inside 10 overs when Andrew Flintoff struck a consolation blow with the removal of AB de Villiers for a 35-ball 42.
But Proteas captain Graeme Smith charged beyond his fifth half-century of the competition - brought up in only 34 deliveries - and smashed Flintoff for three consecutive boundaries late on before finishing things with a straight driven four off Sajid Mahmood.
