Cricket: England made a dreadful start to the second one-day international, losing both openers against India without a run on the board. Alastair Cook was gone after four balls of Praveen Kumar's first over, and Craig Kieswetter followed him back in five from R Vinay Kumar at the other end.
England, who recovered to 62 for three after 15 overs, had lurched to nought for two as new-ball swing helped to undermine their hopes of squaring a five-match series which stands at 1-0 to India after their wide-margin win in Hyderabad.
Cook chose to bat first in Delhi but was soon out of the equation, cutting Praveen aerially for a routine catch at point.
Kieswetter then followed Vinay Kumar's swing and edged to slip, leaving Jonathan Trott and Kevin Pietersen to try to keep India at bay.
They did so initially by leaving a succession of outswingers from Vinay Kumar, as all consideration of the early scoring rate had to be set aside.
Trott mustered England's first run, angled behind square on the off-side off Praveen from the 15th ball of the innings.
He was also responsible for the first boundary, from the same bowler, in the fifth over.
That was a back-foot force which beat the off-side ring, and Trott duly hit the next two balls for four as well to try to get England moving.
Pietersen took his cue, opening his account with a boundary off his legs in an over which cost the hosts 17 runs.
Trott was soon tucking into both India seamers, taking advantage of a quick outfield and a batting surface with marginally more pace than had been anticipated.
But just as England appeared to be approaching reasonable health, Trott went caught behind to the last ball of the mandatory powerplay - a good ball from Kumar which left him off the pitch.
